Every song on “Songs Around The World” is a soulful masterpiece on its own, bringing a blend of deep blues and heart shining reggae. Playing For Change re-invents classics such as “Stand By Me” and “Better Man” while bringing their own blend of musical composition that pushes each song into a new life of its own. With the gender and cultural diversities expressed on the album, the music varies track to track and doesn’t allow the listener to get bored at any moment.
“Songs Around The World” features a few guest appearances by musicians Afro Fiesta, Keb’ Mo’, and The Omagh Community Youth Choir but for one of the first times in recent musical generations, the guests are not the highlights of the album but an add-on, who play to supplement the fantastic, creative Playing For Change.
