Sidewalks by Matt and Kim

The album Sidewalks was recently released by Matt & Kim, an indie rock band known for their limited palette of keyboards and drums. The new album breaks away slightly from the rougher sound of previous albums and favors a more polished feel. Songs such as “AM/FM Sound” and “Good for Great” exemplifies a feel-good sound that dominates their album, while “Northeast” gives a slower calmer feel. Orchestral strings occasionally complement their songs, but ultimately the same Matt & Kim dominates the sound-scape.  This lighthearted album quickly captures the mind in its rhythm and leaves you in a mood in which you can’t help but smile.
